| Phage Therapy Center is located in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. The company was founded in 2003 by the lead scientists from two renowned Georgian scientific research institutions: Eliava Institute, which operated under the Georgian Academy of Sciences and the Center for Medical Polymers and Biomaterials. After the collapse of the Soviet Union these scientists sought to commercialize phage therapy and formed Phage Therapy Center. Early in 2005 Phage Therapy Center Ltd. merged with Phage International, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Phage International Inc. -- a US company. |
