Phage Therapy Center LTD is located in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. The company was founded in 2004 by scientists from two renowned Georgian scientific research institutions: Eliava Institute, which operated under the Georgian Academy of Sciences and the Research Center for Medical Polymers and Biomaterials (RCMPB). The director of the company was Dr. Vakhtang Beridze, who was also the director RCMBP.

Early in 2005 Phage Therapy Center LTD. merged with Phage International, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Phage International Inc. -- a US company.

At the end of 2023 the merger was reversed and Phage International ceased operations. Ownership of the company returned to the Georgian business entity, Phage Therapy Center LTD.
